Young businesses are crucial for creating jobs and boosting the growth and competitiveness of Europe´s economy in the next years. One of the EU´s top priorities is to encourage entrepreneurship, to support sustainable growth and to stimulate a business environment friendlier to SMEs.
SME-TraiNet is an international stakeholder network that is aimed at fostering the dialogue between European young businesses/ SMEs, European Chambers of Commerce, European associations and European guidance and training providers.
It is particularly dedicated to the improvement of current training and guidance support for young businesses by sharing best practices on international level and adjusting existing offers.
The 1st International conference
- gives an overview of European SME- policies
- gives room to discuss the training needs of young SME´s
- gives the opportunity to share international best practice examples of training and consultancy services for young SME´s
Helsinki conference objectives
The Helsinki international conference in which all network partners as well as other relevant stakeholders will participate represents a platform to raise awareness at the political level. Moreover, it will bring together the results achieved by the national researches, the workshops respectively and the working groups at national level. Good practices will be presented, exchanged, discussed and joint strategies developed how the identified best practice approaches and methods could be transferred at European level. Subsequently, a "Conference handbook" and a "Compendium of good practices" summarising the results of the conference will be prepared in paper and digital version. It will be published and disseminated across Europe.
Target group
The main target group of the conference and the stakeholder network activities are vocational training institutions and consultancies mainly offering their services to SMEs as well as representatives of Associations of SMEs or young entrepreneurs and young entrepreneurs and representatives of young SMEs themselves.
Organisational Information
The participation in the conference is free of charge. Costs of the subsistence and accomodation on the ferry is 400 EUR.
